As someone who knew very little about online marketing, a couple of years ago I was looking for ways to boost the popularity of my business here in Coconut Creek, Florida. I had read about many strategies within digital marketing and finally consulted the wonderful guys at Etarget Media. After much conversation about the best way that they could help my business we decided upon email marketing, something which I had read didn’t work effectively anymore. After a year of campaigning I have found great success with email marketing and here is why it is far from dead.
Everyone Has Email
Email conversations and communication may not dominate like it used to but everyone has an email address and everyone does use it. A recent study by Hubspot found that 91% of consumers use email and 73% of business use email. And so whether you are marketing B2C or B2B, you can tryst that the majority people do have email.
The reason why many purport email marketing to be dead are staying this because the average email engagement dropped so much since the early days of email marketing. No even though the click-through rate on your emails sits at somewhere around 4% rather than the 16% that businesses once enjoyed, that is still 4 people in every 100 that will click through and view your company, given the cost of email marketing these are actually good numbers.
If you have looked into inline marketing tools then you will know that email marketing is one of the cheapest strategies out there, and it is highly effective. Take for example some of the automated services which you can use for an email marketing campaign, some of them cost just $1 per month. A low price point makes email marketing extremely affordable and accessible for all businesses, especially cost-cost-conscious startups.
More than 50% of emails are opened from mobile devices by consumer, and they usually do so within just a few minutes of having received them. This means that your email marketing strategy is super quick and gets to your consumers in no time at all.
There is some great feedback which you can gain through email marketing and you will be able to see some excellent metrics which can help you to further improve your strategy. Once you run a couple of campaigns you will be able to see which factors are contributing to success and which aren’t, you can see click through rates on different emails and you will have several KPIs which you can review to see what your customers like best. Not all digital marketing strategies can offer such detailed analytics as email marketing can.
And so if you are looking at giving your company a cost-effective marketing boost which gets straight to your clients, look no further than email marketing, which is far from dead.
